Spain imported a record volume of grain from Russia since 2012.

Spain acquired an unusually large volume of grain from Russia, marking the highest amount in the past 11 years. This happened in October, but the exact figures were only calculated recently thanks to European reports.

The previous maximum was recorded in November 2012 when Spain imported 118 thousand tons of grain. Spanish companies paid 23.9 million euros for the grain purchased from Russia in October. This amount exceeds the previous month’s figure by 17 times.
