Anti-Russian sanctions have created problems for gamers in our country. Many foreign companies have stopped selling games, gaming consoles, and consoles to Russians.
In this regard, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to develop a plan for organizing the production of gaming consoles in Russia. This includes both portable and stationary consoles. This task must be completed by June 15, 2024, according to the official Kremlin website.
Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with addressing the issue of creating an operating system and cloud system for delivering games and programs to Russian users.
In February 2024, footballer Andrey Arshavin proposed creating a Russian analogue of the FIFA computer game. In his opinion, this would help maintain interest in football, especially considering that young people nowadays live in a virtual world. Vladimir Putin promised to assist in realizing Arshavin’s proposal.
Earlier, Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov responded to the question of whether Putin plays computer games. Peskov said that the president has not been observed engaging in such activities.
