Pain is a signal from the body that should not be ignored, warned gastroenterologist and hepatologist Sergey Vyalov on his Telegram channel.

He emphasized the importance of monitoring one’s condition after eating. For example, if a person feels full after a meal but experiences “stomach cramps,” it may indicate a “weak stomach.” If food is poorly digested and there is a girdling pain, attention should be paid to the pancreas.

Vyalov also highlighted the importance of the enzyme balance produced by the pancreas, which depends on the type of food consumed. If a person eats a lot of fats, the enzyme balance will have more lipase.

Regular consumption of large amounts of fats in a single meal places significant stress on the pancreas, potentially leading to pancreatitis — an inflammation where pancreatic cells die, causing surrounding tissues to swell, explained the doctor.

He added that the rapid development of inflammation leads to acute pancreatitis, which requires urgent medical intervention.

To avoid such issues, Vyalov advised diversifying and balancing one’s diet. This approach allows the pancreas to function normally.
