Next-Generation Laser Emitters Developed in Russia.

A researcher from the M.F. Stel’makh Research Institute “Polyus,” part of the Shvabe holding of the Rostec State Corporation, has developed a new technology for producing semiconductor nanostructures. Based on this technology, powerful next-generation laser emitters were created. These scientific developments can be used in the production of medical equipment, unmanned vehicles, lidar systems, and other devices.

Dr. Maxim Ladugin, a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, developed the physical foundations for creating laser quantum-sized structures. The sizes of these structures range from nanometers to several micrometers, allowing the final devices to be more compact and energy-efficient.

The invention was recognized with the highest award at a competition for young scientists organized by the Moscow government.
