A study conducted by the Laboratory of Field Studies at the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasting of RANEPA helped identify an increase in the number of Russians who can live on their savings from several months to two years.
According to surveys conducted in April 2020 and 2023, this indicator increased from 37% to 45%.
Specialists found that the number of people able to live solely on savings for several months increased from 22% in 2020 to 25% in 2023. The number of those who can live without reducing expenses for about a year was 9% and 12% respectively. The proportion of Russians who can support themselves for two years increased from 6% in 2020 to 8% in 2023.
Dmitry Rogozin, the head of the study, noted that the survey results confirm Rosstat’s data on the reduction of poverty levels in Russia, although it is happening slowly, it is still noticeable.
The study involved more than 9,500 adult Russians from different regions of the country.
