Russia to Enhance Detection of Environmental Pollutants
Rosprirodnadzor is set to introduce a new approach to identifying pollutant emissions in Russia. This initiative was reported by TASS, citing Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.
The agency has been allocated 900 million rubles for this purpose. This funding will be used to upgrade the laboratories with modern equipment, which, according to Patrushev, will significantly improve the efficiency of environmental monitoring.
The immediate tasks include completing the inventory of sites with accumulated environmental damage and their remediation, as well as advancing the goals of a circular economy. In practical terms, this means that toxic industrial waste must be disposed of and recycled within the enterprise.
Rosprirodnadzor’s future efforts will be focused on preventing violations rather than merely addressing them after they occur.
