Negotiations Planned to Commence on Visa-Free Group Tourism Exchange between Russia and India

Russia and India are set to begin negotiations in June regarding a visa-free group tourist exchange, with the signing of the corresponding agreement slated for the end of 2024. This was announced by Nikita Kondratyev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects at the Ministry of Economic Development, in a statement to RIA Novosti.

According to Kondratyev, the process of organizing visa-free group trips is currently progressing. The Indian side has indicated that it is in the final stages of domestic approval and has requested Moscow to provide the latest version of the document. The first consultations on the agreement project are planned for June.

Kondratyev highlighted that the agreement between Russia and India could be signed by the end of this year.

In early February, the Ministry of Economic Development announced its intention to launch visa-free tourist exchanges with India in 2024.

Since August 1, 2023, Russia and China have implemented visa-free group tourism exchanges under a bilateral agreement. Additionally, starting from August 1, visa-free group tour exchanges between Russia and Iran have commenced.
