According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Russia in 2022 has become one of the leading countries in the world in food exports. He noted that Russia took first place in some product categories – wheat, sunflower oil and pollock.
The head of government also emphasized that Russian entrepreneurs have successfully adapted to new conditions and are increasing their presence in international markets, especially in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
In addition, the range of Russian products is constantly expanding. Mikhail Mishustin also noted that food security has an impact on various sectors, including agriculture, mechanical engineering, food and chemical industries, transport and trade.
In July it was reported that among the top twenty leaders in food exports, Russia showed the largest increase in the volume of exports of agricultural products over the past ten years – 2.5 times. Moreover, Russian exports of agricultural goods grew by 12% in 2022, to $41.6 billion.
