Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order expanding the list of vital medicinal drugs (VMD). Now included in it are medications to combat viral and bacterial infections, as well as drugs for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis.

Three combination drugs used to treat infections and various infectious and inflammatory diseases were added to the updated list:

  • Cefepime + Sulbactam,
  • Lamivudine + Phosphazide,
  • Tyrosyl-D-alanyl-glycyl-phenylalanyl-leucyl-arginine succinate.

In addition, the VMD list now includes medications for people suffering from multiple sclerosis. These are the drugs Sampinterferon beta-1a and Divozilimab. These medications are manufactured in Russia.

The cost of all vital medicinal drugs is controlled by the state. The VMD list includes over 800 medications that patients receive for free. Funds for these medications are allocated from the federal budget.
