A new payment card for tourists from selected countries has been launched in Russia, according to Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Vakhrukov noted that the card is not yet available to everyone.

“Due to understandable reasons, we have not yet managed to find financial partners in all countries,” he said.

He also mentioned that during bilateral meetings, the possibility of using Mir cards abroad is being discussed.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that the tourist payment card project in Russia would be launched by the end of 2024. This initiative aims to simplify payments for tours, accommodations, excursions, and other services for foreigners.
