In Russia, support for large families will be strengthened across all levels. At the beginning of 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.

The additional measures entail prioritized provision of places in kindergartens and schools, free school meals for children, and complimentary school and sports attire.

Regional authorities are tasked with coordinating with food retail networks to offer discounts to large families.

Financial assistance will also be extended to such families. By presidential directive, programs entailing preferential mortgages and maternal family capital will be extended until 2030. An allowance will be provided for each child.

The State Duma is currently deliberating on another bill concerning support for large families. Deputies propose providing them with free public transport and a 50% discount on utility bills. Such measures are already in effect in some regions of Russia but need to be standardized at the federal level. Additionally, the bill entails increasing the size of the maternal capital.

Efforts to expand support measures for large families will continue.
