Members of the State Duma are developing a draft law to label content created using neural networks, Anton Nemkin, a member of the parliamentary committee on information policy, stated in a comment to RIA Novosti.
According to Nemkin, the State Duma is currently working on the concept of a law to label content created with artificial intelligence (AI). Lawmakers are studying the legislative experiences of other countries, consulting with experts, and refining the definitions of key terms.
Nemkin emphasized that this initiative is driven by the vast amount of content created using AI. The development of such services leads to the proliferation of large volumes of unverified or even fabricated information.
Labeling should be done using graphic or watermarks. It is important that the labeling is unobtrusive yet clear and noticeable to users. People should understand that they are consuming content created by neural networks, enabling them to analyze it more critically, concluded the member of the parliamentary committee on information policy.
