The “Fair Russia – For Truth” faction plans to introduce a bill in the State Duma that would provide young families in Russia with interest-free loans for purchasing housing.

The draft law includes several support measures for young families. The explanatory note to the document states that having housing is one of the main conditions for having children. However, most young families in our country cannot afford to buy an apartment or house without government support. They do not have significant savings. Meanwhile, these Russians generally have stable incomes with growth potential and a long period of employability ahead of them.

The proposal suggests offering young families with children the opportunity to obtain interest-free loans for housing, with a repayment period of up to 25 years. A young family, in this context, is defined as a family with at least one child under the age of 18, and where the parents are no older than 35 years.

Previously, President Vladimir Putin set the goal of providing housing for Russians by 2030, aiming for an average of 33 square meters per person. By 2036, this figure should increase to 38 square meters per person. Additionally, the president has tasked the government with reducing the amount of uninhabitable housing stock.
