Three Russian enterprises have been granted the right to export pork to China
The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced that three Russian enterprises have received permission to export pork to China from February 28, 2024. The General Customs Administration of China registered these enterprises and issued the corresponding permits.
The department noted that the approval of the veterinary certificate and the certification of enterprises are the final steps before opening the Chinese market for pork supplies. Tests in accordance with Chinese requirements were conducted by Rosselkhoznadzor and the General Customs Administration of China.
Chinese representatives visited Russia, familiarized themselves with the veterinary control system, the work of the research institutes of Rosselkhoznadzor, visited pig farms, and inspected Russian pork producers.
It is worth noting that China lifted temporary restrictions on importing pork from Russia in September 2023. These restrictions had been in place since 2008 due to the spread of African swine fever.
