A group of scientists from the South Ural State University (SUSU) has developed a new method for water purification and created the first installation in Russia capable of removing radiation, metals, and salts from it. This will make the water suitable for use in the food industry, social institutions, and private homes, reports TASS.

Graduate student Maxim Novoselov explained that the installation has successfully passed all tests. It can be used in food industry enterprises, rural areas, schools, farms, and other places where there are water problems.

The new method of water purification, developed by scientists from SUSU, is based on a combination of Na-cationization and aeration methods. This approach has solved the problem of water aggressiveness after purification and has also made the new installation practically noiseless during operation, Novoselov explained.

He added that the scientists do not intend to stop their research in the field of water purification.
