Russian tourists are increasingly choosing apartments for their travels within the country. Over the past year, apartment bookings have surged by nearly 92%, almost doubling in frequency.
This trend is attributed to the wide range of apartment accommodations available in Russian cities, according to a report by Bronevik.com and RealtyCalendar. In addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, cities like Sochi, Krasnodar, and Novosibirsk also offer numerous apartment options. Experts noted that while the demand for hotel rooms has only grown by 10% over the past year, the demand for apartments has seen a significantly higher increase.
Furthermore, the cost of daily rentals has risen by 17% to 2500 rubles. Despite this price increase, apartments continue to carve out a larger share of the budget travel accommodation market.
Over the past year, the number of apartments available for tourists in Russia has increased by 48%. Gelendzhik leads this growth, with the number of short-term rental apartments rising by 119% compared to the previous year.
The study also examined the use of apartments for business trips. Interest from business travelers in this type of accommodation has also risen markedly, with demand for apartments among business travelers increasing by 78%, whereas hotel bookings grew by only 6%. The average cost per night for business travelers renting apartments is 3400 rubles.
