The festival featuring equestrian competitions has kicked off

In the Vologda region, the “Russian Troika” festival has begun, attracting teams from six regions of Russia. The festival has been held since 2003 but is taking place on such a large scale for the first time this year.

The festival program includes equestrian team competitions representing the Yaroslavl, Arkhangelsk, Kostroma, Vladimir, Vologda regions, and the Krasnodar Krai. Harmonists complement the competitions, along with an exhibition of folk crafts and an interactive program by historical reconstruction clubs.

A highlight of the festival is setting the Russian Record for the largest composite gingerbread in the form of a horseshoe. The 382 kg gingerbread, baked by workers from the “Cherepovets Bread Combine,” was decorated with a vignette made of sugar paste and the festival emblem. The record was officially recorded and entered into the Russian Book of Records.

The festival also promises equestrian performances, martial arts demonstrations, blacksmithing, and archery and crossbow shooting workshops. Visitors can enjoy a vast interactive program and, most importantly, the capture of a snow fortress.
