In Russia, there is a growing interest among tourists in vacationing in ecologically clean areas. During the first six months of 2024, there has been a significant increase in room bookings in eco-hotels compared to the same period in 2023, reports “Rossiyskaya Gazeta.”

According to the press service of the tour operator “Alean,” demand has surged by 40%. Among the most popular destinations for booking eco-hotels are Krasnodar Krai (42%), Moscow Region, Vladimir, Tula, Kaluga, and Ryazan Oblasts (20%), as well as the Gorny Altai (13%).

In Sochi, most eco-hotels are located within or near natural reserves and in the valleys of mountain rivers. In Anapa, such accommodation options can be found in Sukko, Maloye Utrish, and Blagoveshchenskaya, while in Gelendzhik, they are situated around Thin Cape and Blue Bay.

Tourists choose these vacation spots because of their location in ecologically clean areas and protected zones, natural building and room finishes, as well as “green” nature conservation technologies.

Travelers also appreciate the opportunity to combine eco-friendly leisure with culinary tourism, spa services, outdoor activities, and the absence of mobile network and internet access.
