According to her, women may face cervical or breast cancer. After the age of 40, they undergo mammography to detect breast cancer. Men over 45 are screened for prostate cancer by testing for prostate-specific antigen (PSA).
Additionally, all patients over 45 undergo gastroscopy or esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). Citizens over 40 are given a fecal occult blood test to detect colorectal cancer. If the test is positive, the patient is referred for a colonoscopy.
The health check-up also includes lung examinations using fluorography. If there is a suspicion of cancer, the patient is immediately referred for a lung CT scan, Ten explained.
She added that during the health check-up, every citizen undergoes a visual inspection of the skin, oral cavity, lymph nodes, and thyroid gland.
