A recent incident has brought attention to the dangers of vaping. During a party, a 17-year-old girl lost consciousness. Her friends called her father, and she was rushed to the hospital. British media report that during a five-hour emergency surgery, part of her lung, damaged by excessive vaping, had to be removed.

Journalists noted that the girl started smoking e-cigarettes at the age of 15 because “everyone was doing it.” Over time, this became a serious problem, leading her to vape daily.

The first warning came when she was hospitalized with suspected heart attack. Doctors discovered a lung injury—a burst pulmonary bleb. They managed to help her without surgery at that time. However, she ignored the warning and continued to vape until her heart nearly stopped again in May. This time, surgeons had to remove the damaged part of her lung to save her life.

Doctors believe the lung rupture was caused by components of the e-cigarette liquid.

Endocrinologist Dr. Zukhra Pavlova highlighted on her Telegram channel that this case is just one possible outcome of prolonged vaping.

According to the specialist, the consequences of vaping can be much more extensive: dozens of various lung diseases, cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, and fertility issues for both women and men.
