According to a survey conducted by Desport among residents of several cities in Russia, it was found that almost a third of compatriots (29.4%) engage in sports 1 to 3 times a week.

Nearly as many Russians (27.7%) maintain physical activity, such as walking or trying to count the number of steps taken per day. Additionally, 24.3% of respondents prefer to exercise more than 3 times a week. Only 9.8% of Russians admitted that they do not enjoy physical activity, while 8.6% opt for seasonal sports.

The most popular types of sports in Russia turned out to be tourism and outdoor recreation (17.9%), as well as hiking and camping (15.4%), cycling (14.2%), and fitness (13.2%).

When asked what they associate with sports, the majority of Russians stated: health and energy (21.3% and 16.2% respectively). Nearly half of the respondents (41.7%) prefer to exercise alone, 20.8% with family, and 20.4% with friends.

As for the main places where Russians engage in sports, these include stadiums, sports clubs, or sections (as reported by 28.4% of respondents). Additionally, 27.2% opt for physical activity in nature, 25.3% outdoors, and 17% at home.
