Scientists from the Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET), part of the Rostec State Corporation, have developed a unique HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) therapy device that utilizes highly focused ultrasound for the diagnosis and treatment of neoplasms.

The innovation was presented at the Forum of Future Technologies in Moscow. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnologies of the Federal Biomedical Agency of Russia.

HIFU therapy is developed by the “Electroavtomatika” research and design bureau, which is part of KRET. The device is characterized by mobility and can perform comprehensive diagnostics, high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy, and real-time control of the impact. It can be used for treating breast and thyroid gland tumors, in phlebology, and for various pain syndromes.
