The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has registered an improved two-component vaccine, “Sputnik V,” against the coronavirus. All changes have been reflected in the updated instructions for the drug, as announced by Alexander Gintsburg, the director of the Gamaleya Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Health had already registered an improved version of the “Sputnik Light” vaccine with a modified antigenic composition.
The center’s director noted that the registered “Sputnik V” vaccine has allowed for research to be conducted on adolescents since the “Sputnik Light” with the new composition had not been registered for them.
The study on the use of the vaccine for adolescents is planned to be completed by the end of March.
