The government of St. Petersburg has decided to increase the city’s living wage by approximately 3,000 rubles in 2025. This information is reflected in the draft decree published on the official Smolny resource.
Currently, the living wage in Russia’s northern capital is set at 16,535 rubles. For working-age individuals, it stands at 18,023 rubles; for pensioners residing in the city, it is 14,220 rubles; and for children, it is 16,039 rubles.
If the decree is approved, the living wage for working-age residents will rise to 21,069 rubles next year. For pensioners and children, it will increase to 16,623 rubles and 18,749 rubles, respectively.
The draft decree to raise the living wage is currently under review. Once approved, it will come into effect on January 1, 2025, and remain in force until the end of the year.
It was also recently revealed that the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg may revoke the service pensions and pension supplements granted to deputies designated as foreign agents. The bill’s authors are Vsevolod Belikov, head of the Legislation Committee, and Denis Chetyrbok, chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee.
