A camera trap in the Altai captured the mating call of a snow leopard

In the Saylyugem National Park, a camera trap recorded the mating call of a snow leopard during the breeding season for the first time. This was reported in the park’s official Telegram channel.

The video shows a snow leopard attracting the attention of a potential mate. In the mountains, this call can be heard for tens of kilometers, helping females and males find each other. Additionally, snow leopards leave scent marks on rocks and the ground to indicate their proximity.

Prior to this, no camera trap had recorded such occurrences. The recording was made in the valley of the Argut River.
