A wounded Amur tiger is settling into its new surroundings
A wounded Amur tiger from the Primorsky Krai, transported to the “Tiger House” hospice in the Leningrad Oblast, is beginning to adapt to its new environment and home.
The predator, injured by a gunshot, was flown from Vladivostok to Moscow and then to the Leningrad Oblast, where the only hospice for large cats in Russia is located.
Hospice staff have nicknamed the frightened tiger “Forester.” According to them, the tiger has now started to “relax,” actively eats, and displays natural aggression.
“There won’t be many videos of him. We refuse to let everyone ‘see a real tiger.’… He is sick, he is scared. We promised him peace, and he will have it. The tiger shows curiosity, eats well, expresses displeasure. He takes his medicine and rests,” specialists commented.
Recall that the tiger drew media attention in December 2023 when it attacked a dog in Dmitrievka (Chernigovsky District). Later, when the tiger was captured, it was found to have a serious injury. The animal had limited mobility in the joints of its front paws, and veterinarians discovered an old gunshot wound. Therefore, it is now being cared for and treated.
