Online service Tutu surveyed tourists to determine the most popular street food in Russia. The study included 2,000 users from major cities.

It was found that 85% of respondents purchase street food at least once a month, with the majority spending around 1,500 rubles per month on it.

The top spot in the ranking was claimed by shawarma, considered the most popular street food by 53% of travelers. In Moscow, there are over 4,000 shawarma stands, while St. Petersburg has approximately 2,000.

Burgers took second place, deemed popular by 14% of those surveyed. Moscow boasts over 2,500 burger joints, and St. Petersburg has around 800.

Pizza rounded out the top three with 11% of the votes. Hot dogs are chosen by 5% of respondents, and chebureks by 2.5%.

Moscow has over 1,400 pizzerias, about 1,500 hot dog cafes, and 2,000 cheburek stands. In St. Petersburg, 400 establishments offer pizza, while 700 and 250 serve hot dogs and chebureks, respectively.

The ranking of the most popular street foods also included sandwiches, belyashi, pirozhki, blini, and echpochmaki.
