The first passenger flight operated on a Tu-214 aircraft has landed in Sochi. The flight was performed by the airline Red Wings on the Moscow (Zhukovsky) – Sochi route. Traditionally, the aircraft was greeted with a water salute. The flight had a load factor of over 90%. Passengers praised the spacious cabin of the aircraft and noted that the flight was comfortable.

Red Wings announced that starting next week, the Tu-214 will operate flights from Moscow to Yerevan, Batumi, and then to Tel Aviv.

The first refurbished Tu-214 aircraft joined the Red Wings fleet at the end of December. Manufactured in Kazan in 2009, it was operated until 2017. Last year, by the government’s decision, the leasing company “Ilyushin Finance Co” restored the airworthiness of the aircraft.

The Tu-214 has a maximum flight range of over 7,000 kilometers, and its cabin can accommodate 194 passengers.
