Trade turnover between the countries increased by 63% over nine months.
Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the President of Russia on international affairs, announced that the trade turnover between Russia and the UAE for the first nine months of 2023 surged by 63% compared to the previous year.
He noted that the UAE stands as Russia’s primary economic partner in the Arab world. The mutual trade turnover reached a record high of $9 billion in 2022. This year’s figure amounted to $8.8 billion for the period from January to September 2023.
Ushakov also highlighted that active work by the intergovernmental commission of the two countries contributed to this growth. The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the UAE, scheduled for tomorrow, aims at fostering cooperation in the energy sector and industrial collaboration across various industries such as automotive manufacturing, civil aviation, metallurgy, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and digital technologies.
