Uruguay seeks collaboration with AARI

Uruguay is interested in strengthening cooperation between its universities and the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute of Russia (AARI). This was announced by the Ambassador of Uruguay, Daniel Ruben Castillos Gomez, during the 13th International Arctic: Present and Future Forum.

The ambassador emphasized that AARI Director Alexander Makarov also wishes to interact and carry out joint projects with Uruguayan universities, especially considering that the Latin American country has significant experience in scientific research in Antarctica.

Gomez noted that Uruguay and Russia have close polar stations, so it is essential to develop contacts between academic centers and scientific communities. Collaboration among scientists will benefit in addressing the challenges facing humanity.
