The Central Election Commission (CEC) has completed the counting of all the ballots and announced the final results of the Russian presidential elections.
The statement by Ella Pamfilova was broadcasted on the official website of the CEC. She announced that Vladimir Putin garnered 87.28% of the votes in the elections. He will serve as the President of the Russian Federation until 2030. The inauguration is scheduled for May 7, 2024.
A total of 87.6 million people participated in the elections, representing over 77% of all Russian voters.
Pamfilova also mentioned that the CEC received over 14,000 complaints alleging violations during the elections. It was discovered that more than half of these complaints were sent from other countries by falsifiers. Their intention was to inundate the CEC with unfounded complaints to impede the commission’s work. The actual number of violations turned out to be much lower – 459.
Ella Pamfilova stated that over the past three months, there has been a stream of intimidation and blackmail directed at the electoral commission in Russia. Adversaries attempted to discredit the Russian electoral system. This negative pressure affected not only Pamfilova herself but also her colleagues in the CEC and in Russian regions.
