Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma, stated that not all sellers in Russia comply with the law prohibiting the sale of vapes to minors, so stricter measures are needed, such as increasing fines and temporarily suspending the operation of such shops.
According to Volodin, the aerosol produced when using vapes contains toxic substances that can harm health, including serious pathologies such as brain edema and cardiac arrest.
In this regard, it is necessary to tighten penalties for those who violate the law on selling vapes to minors in order to protect children’s health, the Chairman of the State Duma is convinced.
Russian authorities have already supported a bill proposing tougher fines for repeated violations of the law on selling tobacco products to minors. It will help to more effectively control the industry and prevent similar incidents in the future.
