Analysts from the “Tutu” portal have identified the most popular destinations for independent tourists during the long holiday weekend from May 9 to May 12.

Experts analyzed ticket sales for May 8 and 9 and found that Russians most frequently purchased tickets to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kaliningrad, and Mineralnye Vody.

Regarding international destinations, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Armenia, and Turkey are the most popular choices.

During the second weekend of May, Russian tourists are also planning trips to Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, and Adler.

For those who prefer to avoid tourist crowds, Murmansk region is a recommended destination where visitors can enjoy skiing and snowboarding.

Tour operators are also suggesting trips to Samara, where tourists can explore Stalin’s bunker, a Catholic church, and the Zhigulevsk Brewery.

Other less crowded destinations include Kalmykia, Altai, and Rostov.
