More than 32% of Russians want to move to another city when they retire. Southern destinations are particularly appealing to them, according to a study conducted by “SberNPF” and “Rabota.ru”.
The main criterion for choosing a new place to live among compatriots is a favorable climate (66%), as well as good infrastructure (50%) and proximity to the sea (46%).
Slightly less than half of those surveyed (48%) plan to use their own funds for relocation, while 37% first want to sell their current homes.
According to experts, the percentage of Russians willing to relocate may differ from that indicated in the study, as it is necessary to consider the older audience. Moreover, it should be understood that the desire to move is not enough; one must have the means, especially for purchasing property in southern destinations.
Real estate prices at Russian resorts have always been high, but the cost of infrastructure is offset by proximity to the sea.
Here’s the list of cities compared by year:

In Anapa, prices are not as high, but the city loses out when it comes to permanent residence due to logistics issues and limited access to beaches.
Krasnodar offers a wide selection of housing: the average price per square meter is approximately 120.5 thousand rubles. Russians move there mainly because of the natural-climatic features and the vast balneological potential.
