Russians are trying to improve their housing conditions by all available means: some sell their apartments to buy more spacious housing, while others use borrowed funds, including preferential mortgage programs. However, not everyone has the opportunity to solve the housing issue independently, and in such cases, the state comes to the rescue. Support can be obtained by certain categories of citizens subject to certain conditions.
To get their own housing, one must join the queue and be patient. An application for free real estate is submitted to the local administration with all the necessary documents attached, including passports, birth certificates, certificates of low-income family status, and large families. In addition, it will be necessary to confirm income and employment. This can also be done through the MFC or the “Gosuslugi” portal.
Who is eligible for free housing:
- Veterans of military operations,
- Military personnel,
- Disabled persons,
- Orphans under the age of 23 without inherited housing,
- Large families,
- Single mothers of large families if they are recognized as low-income,
- Russians living in emergency housing.
In addition, the state provides compatriots with various programs to address housing issues. One such program is called “Young Family.”
Instead of free housing, partial compensation for the cost of real estate is offered. Under this program, young spouses can receive a subsidy if they meet certain criteria: they have Russian citizenship and are under 35 years of age.
Additionally, families with children or single parents under the age of 35 with one child can receive a subsidy. Payment amount: at least 30% of the cost of housing for families without children and 35% for families with children.
