Finding a job in Russia has become slightly easier, according to data from the recruitment service hh.ru. The job search difficulty index decreased by 0.01 points from the first quarter to April-June, reaching -0.35 points.
This index reflects job seekers’ expectations regarding current employment opportunities and ranges from -1 to +1. A value of -1 indicates negative sentiment among job seekers, while a value of +1 signifies a stable outlook in the job market.
Residents of the Northwestern Federal District (-0.39), as well as job seekers in the arts and media sectors (-0.58), most frequently report difficulties in finding work. Conversely, candidates from the Far Eastern Federal District face the fewest challenges (-0.31 points), along with those in domestic and service personnel sectors, who are less pessimistic (-0.05 points).
In the second quarter of 2024, the critical job search index rose by 0.01 points compared to the first quarter, settling at -0.31 points.
Job seekers in Moscow and the Moscow region are particularly concerned about finding employment, with an index of -0.34 points. The urgency for finding new work is most acute among those in strategy, investment, and consulting sectors (-0.43). Meanwhile, Russians employed in domestic and service roles feel relatively more stable (-0.15).
The survey included more than 10,500 respondents.
